The SBR rubber granule is used for the creation of the “trauma surfaces” that make up the flooring of playgrounds and children’s play areas. These surfaces, placed under slides and swings, ensure the safety of the little ones by cushioning any falls and thus reducing the risk of injury to children.
Using adequate flooring therefore allows the works to be carried out in accordance with current regulations and in compliance with safety standards against the risks of injury within recreational areas, kindergartens, school gardens according to UNI EN 1177 standards.

Among the main uses of rubber recycled by PFU, road pavements are certainly one of the areas with the greatest potential for development: to date there are more than 300 km of paved roads in Italy using modified bitumen and interest application is constantly growing.
Mixing rubber granules with bitumen, in fact, increases the longevity of the roads because from this operation a road surface more resistant to stress caused by thermal changes and passages of heavy vehicles. In addition, the features of the rubber allow to increase the draining capacity of the asphalt and reduce vibration and noise.

The state-of-the-art artificial turf football fields are one of the main destinations in the sports sector of the SBR rubber grain, thanks to the special features of the material that allow the mantle to have maximum playability and perfect respondents to the demands of the coaches and players, in accordance with the regulations established by the National Amateur League. The rubber grain is, in fact, the performance clog material of the football fields.
The draining characteristics of the field and the resistance in any weather conditions allow, in fact, significant savings on management (no need for irrigation and plant protection treatments) as well as continuous use of the field.

Governments are increasingly attentive to the care of the outer spaces of the cities and their redevelopment. And in fact curbs, traffic lights, slow motion slors and lane delimiters are just a few examples of the use of SBR rubber granules for urban furniture. The ability to withstand impacts without deforming is particularly appreciated in this area, without neglecting the possibilities of use such as protection and coating of normal elements of urban furniture at risk of impact such as vertical signage, planters, roundabouts, traffic light beds, guard rails and containment barriers. Thanks to the specific characteristics of the SBR rubber granule that makes them up these elements are characterized by a considerable drainage and shock absorption capacity, they are respectful of the surrounding environment and cost-effective because reduce maintenance costs.

The ability to absorb vibrations and attenuate noise, combined with the immaculate properties, make recycled rubber an ideal material for this sector, while also leaving ample discretion to designers and businesses on destinations and installation methods. For example, acoustic or thermal insulations, used in this sector, are derived from the SBR rubber grain: they are shaped panels that, inserted into the gaps of the walls, improve the quality of life in homes and offices. In addition, waterproofing and seismic panels can also be produced from the rubber grain.

Applications -

In addition to football pitches, rubber recycled by PFU is also applied in other sports sectors such as horse riding. Thus the sand is increasingly replaced by the recycled rubber granule “nobilitato”, often brown, which guarantees a longer life of the material and preserves it from the elements. It also has a high drainage capacity, is non-slip, slippery and resistant to deformations.
These pavements are designed for the well-being and health of horses and experts as the inhalation of the micro silica powders that rise during the footof the hooves can lead to frequent respiratory conditions such as the onset of problems related to silicosis, problems that do not arise with the use of sBR rubber grain.
